Hi there :)

It's time for the 2nd post of "Life As It Is"!!!!!!!!! The post that I'll only do once a month and share with you what happen in my life in backlog style(*actually I'm lazy to update every day or every week :-P). Of course same as last post, this time the post will still contain a lot of photo for you to admire(*photos are good.. reduce the number of word I've to type :-P). Without further ado let's the feast... eh... post begin!!!!!!!!!!!

Muahaha... Idzuan, Idzuan, Idzuan... what wrong with you, first photo already show food? Oh well... what to do, I love to eat and so do you right? ;-) Above photo is "Sambal Tumis" ayam/chicken which of course not cooked by me(*credit to my wifey). Maybe you all already know how much I love spicy food especially the "Sambal Tumis" ayam/chicken. It's such a simple food/dish but to get the perfect one is rather hard. Lucky my wife already master it and her "Sambal Tumis" near to perfection according to my personal taste ;-D.

Ok... move along. Ahh... how much I love books. In October there was an event called "Big Bad Wolf" where all the books in that event will be sell at super discounted price, I think it almost 70-80% of the original price.

We go on Saturday very early morning knowing that there will be a lot of people. We arrive 30 mins before the hall is open and you can see the long queue there. Bring three big shopping bag so it will be easier to carry all the books while do the bargain hunting.

The hall is big!!!!!!!! and a lot of book. Divided by section so it's easy to find what you want to buy. When first entering the hall I straight away went to computer section to find all my programming books and then move to financial section.

With only RM100 budget I manage to grab all the books I wanted and fill up my shopping bag to the max :-) I'm sure it will be more if I'm not set any budget. Next year plan to increase the budget and for the next time instead of shopping bag I'll straight away bring a trolley :-D.

See... how happy my wife is ;-P shopping... always make girls happy regardless of what ;-P. For boys... hem... the pocket will become lighter X-D.

And here are the books we manage to get from "Big Bad Wolf"...

The "Big Bad Wolf" event was in the morning and we done with our bargain hunting by afternoon. Got party invitation from my uncle for his daughter birthday. Location at his "Tutti Fruity" outlet at Bandar Sri Permaisuri. (*yeah!!!! free Tutti Fruity!!!!!!!).

Took a few shoot of my lovely nephews. Well... can't get the shoot I intend to but what to do... kids will not stay still X-D

They are cute right... just like me ;-P.

Chibi got stuck in the Giants plastic bag :-D He always be the one who explore and check out the things we bring back to the house :-).

Maybe you don't know that Chibi and Yuki is not in a good term with each other. They kinda a natural enemy so stay next to each other will end up with the cat bitch slap X-D. One day I saw they sleep near to each other... I think that is the closest they can go.

And then come Miu in the middle...

When the place become to crowded, Yuki always be the one to leave. We always call her "Diva" because she not good in sharing with other cats.

One fine day while working at my computer room, I saw something outside. It's a hamster!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure how he can get there but I need to rescue him. There are a lot of stray cat around that area so you know what will happen to that hamster if I leave him there...

The hamster not in good condition by the time I rescued him. You can see yourself at above photo. Bought some small cage for him to stay. This is my cat reaction to him ;-P

What the hell is this???? Miu asked.

Hello there... we means no harm... hehehe(*evil).

In the end, the hamster die a week after that :'-(. RIP hamster... ooohh... I named him Lucky btw.

Also in October, there was a promotion by Groupon for Manhattan Fish Market. I'm not remember exactly what the set name but here the photo.

A bit disappointed with the set. It's already pre-cooked so by the time we get it, it's already cold. I think they premade it because a lot of people buy that coupon from Groupon. There was a few other I saw use that coupon. In another week we go eat at Ichiba Ramen, Jusco Balakong. The food from there so far never let me down... I'm always go out as a happy customer with a few kilos added (*Idzuan... a few kilos?? Are you sure?? ;-P). You should try it to... recommended by me :-D

This is not a food ok. Just a decoration there... so don't order this.

Sorry... once again forgot the food name :-P Oohh.. there is Takoyaki there X-D

Once again like last month by boss from US came to Malaysia. There is a project going on and we already near the release so he will come here quite often. The good thing is when we came he always treat of us a lunch. Busy schedule only allowed us to go to the nearest restaurant/cafe so once again we all eat at Kelantan Delight @Sooka, Sentral.

The curry is superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a small team :) I'm the only Malay there.

In October also, one of my friend both husband and wife got their first son, and his name is "Haris Safeyullah Bin Mohd Khairi". Hope I'm not spelling it wrong :-P.

Fuhhh... almost there. Please bare with me a little bit more :-P this what will happen if you update once a month X-D To end this post let me show you more of my cats photo.

Life As It Is... Sept 2011

It has been a while since my last post :) This blog start to get neglected as I'm busy with my everyday life. Anyway, I'll try to keep this blog updated at least once a month so from now on I want to start a post series call "Life As It Is.." which will contain some sort of monthly diary of my life. It may contain a lot of photo for you to enjoy :) Hope I'll able to keep this series going this time :P

I tried this "Pepper Lunch Express" just right after the fasting month on August. The taste is quite ok for me so do the price. Having it at Midvalley food court. You need to eat it while it still hot because it contain a lot seasoning and pepper.

As you may know September is a Hari Raya month so I've been busy every weekend attending open house and friend's wedding.

It is time to catch some movie after dinner. Got a lot of people that night.

and we are watching "Johnny English Reborn". Bough it through online so no need to queue and skip all the hassle. How the movie? It's great... I'm can't stop laughing throughout the entire movie so do my wifey.

Before go to cinema we do some shopping at Daiso. Manage to get this curtain holder for only RM5 each.

Having lunch with all the office mates. Ate at Kelantan Delight at Sooka near the KL Sentral. This is first time I try to ate Sireh :P well... we all need to try it at least once.

I keep asking my wife to make me kuih Keria and finally she make it for me. It's superb.. love you wifey XD next thing in the list is Karipap :P

Also had a chance to having dinner at my friend house. Bring over my favorite pizza, Domino's meat mania chessy double decker :)

Yuki... New Member of The House.

One is not enough. My heart always want more which I believe the more the merrier :P Let me introducing you with our new member of the house (Drum roll).................. Yuki.

Yuki in Japanese means snow. I adopted her from one of the PetFinder.my rescuer which also where I found Chibi's rescuer. I think she much more older then Chibi maybe 1-2 month different. Not sure how much her weight now but she has bigger body compare to Chibi which I believe she has this big cat gene.

Anyway.. that all for now. I'll update more about Chibi and Yuki later. Enjoy the rest of photo of her :)

Hi there. Let me introduce you with Chibi, our new family member. Chibi is the adopted cat that has been rescued from wet market. It is quite some time for us(me and my wife) looking for a cat, at first I'm planning to buy from pet store or breeder but after a long think and survey I decided to just do an adoption which is good because I'm giving a chance to stray cat to have better live :)

We adopt Chibi from veterinary clinic near Puchong area which he and his two sister put at after being rescued. At first we plan to take his sister but when we are there it is in critical condition and need some medical help. Concern we are not good enough to take care sick kitten then change our decision to take a look other kitten with is Chibi and his other sister name Kiera. We finally choose Chibi because from the first approach he look much more interested in us compare to his sister, Kiera.

Chibi was very thin back there with just 0.5 kg weight, has skin problem and a bit of diarrhea but after a few day with prescription food he become much more healthier. A week later when we go to do medical checkup for Chibi he manage to gain some weight from 0.5kg to 0.75kg. The skin problem still not yet fully recover but it's getting better with medicated shampoo we use. Here some photo of Chibi. Enjoy :)

What I like most when going back to "Kampung" is the food. Most of the foods there(Penang & Kelantan) are delicious and I can say it is much more better then what we can have in KL. New Shoes.

It is very rare for me to spend my money on cloth, shoes or other things related to clothing and apparel but somehow I'm finally have been force to bought a new shoes for myself. That shoes needed for the outdoor photo shoot that has been arrange on last minute and at that time I don't have anything decent to wear... only have a torn sandals and bunch of old t-shirts. The journey start with Nasi Lemak for breakfast which was prepared by my friend and his wife :) After everyone done with their breakfast we start our journey to Perak which took us a whole day to go there and come back here. It has been so long time since my last post. I'm kinda to focus on my Starcraft 2 game which I'm trying so hard to improve in a short period of time and I'm feel really guilty to abandoned my photography hobby. So now what I'm trying to do is to balance between my photography practice and my game practice. Not really sure whether I can do it or not :-P because new thing usually much more attractive right XD.

Anyway, here some of the shoot that I've been done recently. I never really done any flower photography before and in one fine evening I've decided to do that. All these shoot done with my trusty Canon 40D + EF 50mm f/1.8 lens (ideal lens for this kind of shoot should be the lens that have focal length 85mm and above so that you can totally throw all the background out of focus). Location was at my own house yard. Final output has been applied a minor color processing in Adobe Lightroom.

Of course I've shoot much more but these 3 are the best so far. What do you think?

P/S : In other note this kind of shoot suppose to be categorize as Close Up photography but I've decided to put it under Micro Photography. Want to know what are the differences between Close Up and Micro photography? Please do read this article.

StarCraft 2.

It has been two weeks since my last post. I alway try to make a post at least once a week but for some reason I'm get a little bit distracted :-P The game I'm waiting for finally came out on 27 July 2010..... StarCraft 2. Once I'm got that game I straight away install it and quickly try to finish all it's campaign mission mode a.k.a story mode so that I can start focusing on the multilayer play which is I'm enjoy the most. Finish it already a few days ago... so now I can start practicing for next year Malaysia World Cyber Game. Hope by that time I will be a decent player and be able to qualified :-) Below are some of the photos taken before I'm opened the game box.

The Thing We Do Last Weekend.

This is last weekend story. I went to Shah Alam last week together with my beloved wife, mother and my little nephew to run some errand. After finish all the errand things, I decided to drop by at the Plaza Masalam@Seksyen 9. This place bring a lot of my childhood memories for sure. While we are there is one toy(I'm not really sure what this thing call but it is a toy that when we put a coin it will start moving) that my little nephew always want to ride but his father never allowed him as long as I can remember so as a very good, nice and lovely uncle... I decided let him ride that thing.

Can you see how happy he is...

So that thing running about 10 minutes and when that thing stop it's where the nightmare start and revealing why my big brother never allow his son to ride this thing...

Because one time will not be enough for him. As you can see on above photo, he asked me to put more money into that thing so he can continue playing until he satisfied or bored. Hell no... I've to forcefully drag him away from that thing and the cry scene start from that moment(well... you should know how hard to carry a crying kid in the middle of shopping complex... it's required a lot of strength and patient).

After we done with our shopping + window shopping.. it is time for lunch. We ate at the newly open restaurant that serve "Ayam Penyet". The food was OK... but it will not be in my favorite list. Here some photos taken while we were waiting for the food.

Redang Island Vacation.

In June 2010, I've the opportunity to have a vacation on one of popular holiday spot in Malaysia, Redang Island. It was kind of last minute plan and it was in school holiday so most of the resort already fully booked. After a few call, I'm finally manage to get a room at one of the resort that locate along the Pasir Panjang beach, Redang.

We (me and my wife) arrived at Merang jetty early in the morning and will take a bot to Redang Island. The journey if I'm not mistaken will take around 1 hour to get there.

Pasir Panjang beach is covered with soft white sand and the best thing is the sea water is so crystal clear plus you can see the fish swimming around just a few meter from the beach. Taking a afternoon nap on this kind of beach is just like a dream and it's so relaxing. All my stress gone with the wind :-P

If you go to the beach especially the beutiful one as this Pasir Panjang, walk a long the beach is a must. I'm plan to take a sunset shoot but weather was not on my side but still I'm manage to took a few portrait shoot of my wife while we having the morning walk before go to snorkeling activity.

Redang Island is really a nice place for you to relax. It's advisable for you to check the weather forecast before go there... beach will be much more fun with the sun shining ;-P

Just finished watching World Cup 2010 final. What a match and a lot of card flying around :-P Congratulation to Spain + Paul The Octopus ;-) and next stop will be in Brasil. Enough with the world cup thing.. lets proceed with the photography stuff :-)

Portraits Of My Family.

It has been nearly 3 weeks since my last update. Sorry for those people who visit this blog within my hiatus period :-P I'm still actively photographing even though I'm not updating this blog so right now I've a lot of it to share with you all :-)

I love to do portrait. I don't know why but I always like to include people in my photo. When I'm at Kelantan for my wedding, I've the opportunity to photograph some of my family members(brothers, nephews and cousin). All these photo has been taken at late afternoon(indoor to avoid harsh sun light) where there was a natural light from the windows on the left and I'm using the white wall as my background. White wall is very useful where it can give a clean background which will give me studio like result and it also can act as a big reflector to bounce a light to my subject. Here some of my best take for that session, enjoy :)

Recently I start to learn a bit about B&W images especially how to foreseen the potential of certain image as B&W material. Image without color will help my audience(who looking at my images) to focus more to the real content of the image such as moment, feeling, structure and so on without distracted by color element. Creating B&W images is not as simple as convert it but I need to see whether that image is strong enough to deliver a message without it's color. Contrast, shape, line and composition play important role as major element that I'll looking for before converting it to B&W.

This image below meet the requirement because it has the combination of strong contrast and line.

Below is one of my favorite because it contain such a great moment that show how great the love is. Decided to remove all the color to become B&W image so my audience can focus more to the moment it contain without get distracted by color.

In photography I always try to make my audience pause for awhile for each of my images where most of the time audience tend to just give a quick glance. I still have long way to go to create such image that give the impact I want. Need to work harder for that :)

Editing...

If you following me and all my photos since beginning until now you may notice that the style of my photo keep changing from time to time. I'm actually doing a lot of experiment on editing especially with the color but at the same time I'm trying not to be obsess with it because photo editing can be like a drug where it can actually make you want more and never know when to stop.

However I'm still believing that good photo should created by the time you press the shutter and only use editing to bring out the hidden potential of your photo. There are a lot of software can be use for editing but for now I'm stick to Adobe Lightroom as color processing and RAW conversion to JPEG. Final touch up usually will be done with GIMP.

Below is one of the photo which I'm already process and edit it. Hope someday I'll get better with this editing stuff and be able to bring my photo to the next level.

DCIM Show 2010.

Year 2010 is the second year for DCIM show if I'm not mistaken. DCIM was organized by Velocity Media Sdn Bhd, the publisher of Digital Camera Magazine(Malaysia). The show will showcase the latest innovations and products in the world of photography.

I did not shoot much of the photo because it was crowded with a lot of photographer. I suggest you to bring your wide and telephoto lens for this event next time. The faster the better because the light condition was not so good. Below are some of my shoot. Enjoy :)

Bandung Trip 2010 - Day 5 & 6.

Here the last post for my Bandung trip photos. On day 5 we spend our time to revisit a few places in Bandung to buy something. Our flight back to Malaysia was the first flight from Bandung to LCCT and it was very early in the morning.

It was a superb vacation. We have a lot of fun and good moments. For my photography part, I'm feel that I'm really have to learn more about composition which will allow me to deliver a story behind the photo (I think shooting wide should be something I'm need to learn in travel photography). On early of the trip I'm start to confuse with the setting I should use. Before go to Bandung I'm always shooting in Manual mode but while traveling the lighting condition will be rapidly change so I've to switch to Aperture mode. It is a good learning experience for me as photographer. Hope you all enjoy my Bandung trip series.

Bandung Trip 2010 - Day 3.

Here are the photos taken during day 3 on my recent Bandung trip. We all went to Jakarta this time and it take a bout 3-4 hours from Bandung to Jakarta depend on the traffic condition. We only manage to cover Tanah Abang. We only manage to cover half of it and I can tell you 1 day is not enough.

Bandung Trip 2010 - Day 2.

Here the continuation for my recent Bandung trip photo. For second day we actually planned to go to Kawah Putih but need to cancel it because that place being close due to landslide. In the end we settle down by went to Cibaduyut, waterfall and Kampung Daun.

I really love to travel around the world. When travel I would be able to see something new and different compare to what I can be seen in my hometown. 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010.

This year Putrajaya once again organize their 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta which are held for 4 days. Below are a few shots I took during that event. This is also my first time trying the high key photo technique... love the clean and minimalist background :)

Wish I've a telephoto lens... hem... maybe next year ;-)

Take Better Portrait Tips.

Light is the main component for photography and without it no image can be produce. Light can be friend or enemy to photographer depend how you make use of it. Until now I'm still trying to understand the light and try to make full use of it. I believe good photographer should be able to produce great images regardless what light condition they are in.

There is simple tips you can follow when you do outdoor portrait. Remember this, when you shoot outdoor it is advisable for you to shoot under open shade. Where can you find this open shade? Well, most of the time tree and building can be a good source of open shade or anywhere you can find as long the light from the sun not directly fall on your subject. With open shade basically you can shoot any time of day and don't need to worry whether it is early morning or late afternoon where the light would be softer. Below are some photo taken by me that practice this open shade tips.

People always be my main subject and I can say that 90% of my photo are portrait. I always dream to capture important moment and particular state/condition in their life and hope someday that photo will bring memories to them.

When I'm first started the photography as hobby most of my shoot usually follow basic composition rules regardless what type of shoot I did :P then later I'm start getting bored with typical rule of third composition. I start to learn more and see a lot of example especially in portrait. Below are some of the my first attempt to shoot close up portrait in order to break my rule of third composition habits :)

Playing With The Color...

I'm always shoot my photo in RAW format then dump it all into Adobe Lightroom to get it convert into JPEG. In Lightroom you can easily tweak and play with the color so I learn a bit how to do it via internet. Below are my first attempt result. The color seem kind of weird to me :P

Oh well.... I'm still remember the day I decided to bought myself a DSLR. For your information my DSLR is a 2nd hand DSLR. Thanks to my friend who sold his Canon 40D cheap to me and make my dream come true. Combine with very cheap 50mm f/1.8 lens, I'm present you my first few shoot with DSLR :)

At the age of 26, Kanemoto-san (who is now naturalized to being Japanese) got married and was earning 280,000 yen per month as an industrial designer. Apart from his main job, he was doing some sort of volunteer work which he had been doing since his days at university. Most of his salary ended up being poured into his volunteer activities and before he knew it he had a few million yen worth of debt and his wife wanted a divorce. Kanemoto-san told his wife that he decided to go to Tokyo and make it big. He managed to leave Nagoya for Tokyo without going through the divorce.

In 1997, with his laptop computer and a few thousand yen in pocket, Kanemoto-san arrived at Tokyo bus station and soon after headed to see his friend in Akihabara who had always said to him "why don't you come to Tokyo and work for me?" But after meeting up, his friend said to him "I didn't think you would actually come..."

Without a job, Kanemoto-san went around to friends places in Tokyo and managed to live under a roof for 20 days - he was then homeless after that. His first homeless place was Tokyo station where there was a load of construction going on. He sheltered himself in the nooks n crannies of construction sites. He kept warm by buying a 300 yen small bottle of warm Japanese rice wine which he would then wrap in newspaper to keep himself warm. Kanemoto-san would get on the Yamanote line train (which goes in a circle around Tokyo) to keep warm. There was a park in Omotesando where he based himself and was fortunate to meet a shop assistant who would pass him some sell-by-date food.

Despite being homeless, Kanemoto-san had always been focused on his dream of making it big in Tokyo. Even though he only had water at times to fill his stomach, he never let go of his laptop computer. He visited a client that he had previously worked with and asked for work. "I'll design business cards - whatever. I need work." Slowly but surely, requests for computer design work came his way. He even managed to find somebody who would lend him their fax and telephone (Japan is still a fax society - even in 2009!). But Kanemoto-san was still homeless. While he could wash down in the park, he couldn't have a bath/shower meaning that he smelt. The companies that he was doing design work for was unaware that he was homeless. Some of his clients thought that maybe it was because he was so busy that he didn't have time to bathe (-_-!!).

Kanemoto-san being homeless had all the time in the world that he used to come up with design work which he used to approach companies. As his clientele grew, he started to earn 10,000 yen (100 USD) per month which grew to 300,000 yen (3000 USD) per month. He kept 10,000 yen and sent the rest to his wife. Kanemoto-san managed to build websites and do design on his laptop computer while being homeless for a few years and during this time gained inspiration for setting up a company through the work that he done.

In 1999, Kanemoto-sans wife gave the money back to him that she saved up together with some allowance that she got from her parents. He used this money to set up an IT company called OK Wave which went public after receiving funding from IT giants Cyber Agent and Rakuten. OKWave currently has 962,521,500 yen of capital with 87 employees. Their clients include NTT, KDDI and Microsoft.

Apart from running his company, he has also published many books about his experiences.

Timeout Comedy Night.

Hi,

It is first time I went to Timeout Comedy Night organize by Timeout KL at Velvet Underground, Zouk KL. My friend which I'm know him since high school did his first appearance as stand up comedian so I'm there to give him a moral support.

It was my first time shoot in low light situation but good stage lighting really help me. Below are some of my best shoot for that night.

Hi....

Finally after a few weeks of delay I manage to pull myself to create this blog. At first I'm not really sure whether I should just use my existing blog or open a new one but then after do all the consideration I decided to open new one. This blog is not like other blog created by me before because this time I'm using my real name. I want to showcase all my photos through this blog and want to build a brand using my name just like an artist :P I'll try my best to create a post related to photography as much as possible.
